Brian and Anne Meakins manufacturers of Newmans Horseradish, have released their first wines. The fruit is sourced from their vineyard on the alluvial floodplains of the Bremer River adjacent to the Horseradish crop. The wines are labelled under the name Rusticana.
The botanical name for Horseradish is Amoracia Rusticana hence the reason for the name given to our range of wines.
The newly released Rusticana Wines come from fruit grown in our 25 acre vineyard on the alluvial floodplains of the Bremer River. At present we have both Cabernet planted in 1997 and Shiraz planted in1998.
New plantings of Durif and Zinfandel are yet to bear fruit but will add to our range
and give us the ability to blend and offer some different wines.
