The very first Lighthouse built in South Australia in 1852, Situated at the breathtaking eastern most part of Kangaroo Island, only 30 minutes drive from the Ferry terminal at Penneshaw are Cape Willoughby Lighthouse Keepers Cottages, overlooking Backstairs Passage, where many a ship was wrecked at the Scraper Bar Reef or Ylata Shoal Reef by Cape St Albans in bygone days. Enjoy spectacular sunrises, listen to the waves crashing onto the nearby cliffs and catch a glimpse of a Sea Eagle.

Tastefully furnished and spacious with five bedrooms, both Thomas and Seymour Cottages (named after the first Head Keepers of the Lighthouse) are self contained and can accommodate up to 8 guests, they are beautifully restored with polished Baltic pine floors and include a slipper bath, separate shower and toilet with spacious veranda's.

CAPE du COUEDIC - FLINDERS CHASE NATIONAL PARK

Nestled in Flinders Chase National park, in the far south western corner of Kangaroo Island, Cape du Couedic is renowned for its wildlife and spectacular coastal scenery. It is located just a 20 minute drive from the Visitor Centre and Chase Cafe, take a stroll to view New Zealand Fur Seals frolicking in the ocean and on rocks at Admirals Arch, take a 5 minute drive to Remarkable Rocks or drive further for spectacular walking trails through out the park and at nearby Kelly Hill Caves.

Built in 1907 from locally quarried Limestone, Karatta, Parndana and Troubridge Lodges offer the charm of yesteryear with polished pine floors, tasteful furnishings, well equipped large kitchens and each with three bedrooms that comfortably sleep up to 6 people.

Experience the history of the early pastoralists in these beautifully restored stone cottages. Peace and comfort beckons at the end of the day exploring Flinders Chase National Park, situated within walking distance of the Visitor Centre and the Chase Caf. Choose from May’s Homestead, built in the 1890’s or Postman’s Cottage, built for the visiting mailman. Relax and enjoy the abundant wildlife. Take a walk before sunset or sunrise to the Platypus waterholes lookout, where you might be fortunate to glimpse this elusive creature.
